ILS President Michael Scaief announced on May 4^th, 2010, that Texas State Bankshares Inc. acquired Falfurias State Bank, located in Falfurias, Texas. The announcement was the finalization of the agreement for acquisition of Falfurias State Bank, known for traditionally high levels of customer service. Current and future customers can continue to see their expectations exceeded while local banking returns to the Rio Grande Valley.

On July 1, 2010, The Texas Department of Banking approved the planned name change of Falfurias State Bank to “Texas Regional Bank” who retained the Falfurias location, but relocated the main branch to Harlingen, Texas. President Michael Scaief commented, “We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to partner with the team in Falfurrias.  Falfurrias State Bank has a long history of serving Brooks County, and we intend to complement their traditional service levels with enhanced product offerings for their customers while expanding the operations to service the Rio Grande Valley.”
