"My accountant referred me to Investor Loan Services. He explained how they could simplify the process and manage the collection of my notes to ensure that at the end of the year, all my accounting for these notes was in order; I wish I had done this a long time ago."

ILS President Leading New Bank Venture
September 9, 2010

ILS President Michael Scaief announced on May 4th, 2010, that Texas State Bankshares Inc. acquired Falfurias State Bank, located in Falfurias, Texas. The announcement was the finalization of the agreement for acquisition of Falfurias State Bank, known for traditionally high levels of customer service. Current and future customers can continue to see their expectations exceeded while local banking returns to the Rio Grande Valley.

On July 1, 2010, The Texas Department of Banking approved the planned name change of Falfurias State Bank to “Texas Regional Bank” who retained the Falfurias location, but relocated the main branch to Harlingen, Texas. President Michael Scaief commented, “We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to partner with the team in Falfurrias.  Falfurrias State Bank has a long history of serving Brooks County, and we intend to complement their traditional service levels with enhanced product offerings for their customers while expanding the operations to service the Rio Grande Valley.”

The changes taking place offer the long standing customer service commitment across a larger regional area of Texas, making branches more readily available to customers.  Convenience is only one of the many positives from this merger. The primary focus of Texas Regional Bank is on the needs in the local community: small and medium sized businesses, homeowners seeking home improvements and expansions, and even current customers seeking personal loans now have alternatives for their financial needs.

The management team of Texas Regional Bank are focused on building a regional banking system in the Rio Grande Valley. ILS President Michael Scaief, by providing banking relationships through experienced banking leadership, stays committed to customers and vows to provide the same level of traditional service the Falfurias customers have grown to love while bringing new financial solutions to customers. Texas Regional Bank will be committed to providing existing and new bank customers with expanded services enhanced by leading technology and products. These innovations in the banking industry secure the future financial needs for the region and ensure that, as banking technology develop, Texas Regional Bank will remain on the forefront and still be recognized as a bank of “the people you know.”
